Performance Explosion!
This training consultant has built up a provocative and inspiring approach to leadership and management development that is extensively sought after. With a wide ranging and diverse background in the corporate, public and not-for-profit sectors, combined with an international consulting and coaching career, she has more than 20 years experience of organizational and individual leadership and management development, from leading teams to developing Corporate Boards, and working intensively on a one-to-one basis with clients. She is passionate about good leadership and effective management and how it can transform both organizations and individuals. An innovative practitioner of leadership and management development, she promotes authentic leadership programmes, master-classes in management development, facilitates action learning sets and the use of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and performance coaching.
From experience she has found that consistently using tried and tested approaches to challenges, often results in predictable outcomes, limited innovation, learning and development. With this in mind she began an exciting journey and exploration in personal and organisational leadership and management development. What she discovered, is that no matter which sector you work in i.e. corporate, public or charity sector the leadership and management challenges are essentially the same, for example in any sector you will experience working with difficult people or teams, performance management challenges, poor leadership, failing management, lack of motivation, and similar! The challenge she suggests is to ‘think outside the box’, use multi-faceted approaches which complement each other, as opposed to a ‘one size fits all’ approach, and apply innovative and effective methods which achieve desired sustainable results.
She passionately believes that good leadership and management within any organization is vital for success. Organizations are made up of clusters of people who, when led well commit with far greater enthusiasm and passion than in organizations where there is little or no evidence of good leadership. In her work with clients, she has seen examples of both good and poor leadership and management. Where there is good leadership she has supported this by delivering high level leadership development programmes and challenging such organizations to develop in-house leaders and coaches who share and commit to the values and vision of the organization for the long term. Where she has worked with organizations who have demonstrated poor leadership and management she has supported them to change by delivering hard-hitting leadership and management development programmes including a series of coaching sessions for leaders and their senior team. Her experience is that in poorly led organizations often whilst the intention is good progress is marred by poor communication, lack of or poor feedback, constant change, lack of vision and direction.
She is a certified MBTI practitioner (Step 1 and Step 2) and has applied her skills to enable individuals to gain clearer and better understanding of their natural and innate preferences, supported difficult teams to work effectively together, facilitated leadership development as well as used MBTI with complementary coaching and emotional intelligence approaches to challenge perceptions, decisions and possibilities. Her belief and passion in the use of the MBTI instrument has resulted from the phenomenal change and positive impact she has seen MBTI have on clients who having undertaken the exercise suddenly have that eureka moment! MBTI enables clients to makes sense of the what, why, where questions. It provides a sense of where we get our energy from, how we prefer to take in information, how we make decisions and how we deal with the outer world. MBTI supports individuals to better understand themselves and their colleagues, the way they are being perceived and why people behave in different ways. She takes time to allow clients to fully explore preferences and to experience what life is like for others living in an opposite preference.
She is an excellent coach who is currently providing an executive coaching service to senior staff within a Leadership Academy. As a coach her aim is to facilitate different and effective ways of thinking, listening, challenging and identifying appropriate solutions. She has and continues to coach clients from some of the largest UK public sector organizations. She strongly believes that coaching rather than directive teaching leads to long term benefits for both individuals and the organizations. She has also used coaching extensively to support individuals in organizations undergoing significant change initiatives.
She has facilitated numerous action learning sets for diverse groups of Chief Executives and senior staff across the UK. Using a range of models and approaches, she has supported clients to successfully overcome significant business challenges. Her thinking on the effectiveness of action learning sets is that it builds on and supports the ethos of coaching and mentoring and is a tool which all individuals and organizations can benefit from. This consultant has also been involved in setting up in-house coaching services and action learning groups for the long-term benefit of the organization and its staff.
If you are serious about developing yourself, your team and your organization then this is the trainer for you and your organization! Her approach is one of experiential learning and constructive challenge. What this means is that you learn by doing and leave all sessions with practical tools which really work!
