Communication Skills Specialist

Over 20 years of corporate training experience backed up with the practical knowledge and skills obtained from working for 24 years at middle and senior management level in mixed nationality environments.

I started my career back in 1970. I began as an area sales executive and was responsible for finding new clients and that the existing clients received effective and fast service. I then moved up to become Country Coordinator for two new freight services. I then broadened my sales experience by moving into the insurance services sector. One strong motivating factor for the move was that my new employer was one of the top three companies for sales training in the UK. With them, I could strengthen and develop my sales and customer service skills. My time with Hambro Life taught me a lot about sales, customer service and myself.

To broaden my experience in insurance, I then moved to a local brokerage and was responsible for the sales and the running of the office.

In 1983, I moved to Finland to join my Finnish wife. As I did not speak Finnish, It was very difficult to get work. After a lot of networking, I found language training work with local training institutions.

This change was initially very challenging, however I soon realised that by building on the
Communication skills I already had I could achieve the desired results.

In 1988 I was asked to join Linguarama. I was initially responsible for the sales but quickly became the local centre manager. In 1994 was promoted to General Manager. During my time I was able to develop a strong culture of customer service within the company. I also began the development and implementation of communication skills training workshops.

In 2000, I set up my own company so that I could develop my own style of communication and personal development skills training workshops.

My life experience has taught me that I am persistent, enthusiastic, and have a strong desire to give the best possible results. My sales and management background provide good support and help me relate and identify with the problems that participants have in their day-to-day work. I want to give training that will give real long-term benefits. I like new challenges and enjoy what I do
