This expert is a Professor of Operations Management, IIM Bangalore. He has more than 15 years of wide ranging professional experience in teaching, research, consulting and academic administration at IIM Bangalore and other reputed academic institutions such as IIT Delhi and XLRI, Jamshedpur. He was a visiting scholar at the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, Dartmouth College, NH, USA during 1999 - 2000. He was also a retainer consultant to Deloitte Consulting LLP, USA during 2001 - 2002. He obtained M.Tech and Ph.D. from the Industrial Engineering and Management Division of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
He has been recognized for his excellence in teaching both at the Institute and outside. He has been consistently rated among the top five professors in the institute teaching and executive education programmes. He was also conferred the ?ICFAI Best Teacher? award by the Association of Indian Management Schools in 2005.
He is an accomplished researcher. He is in the Editorial Board of leading journals including Production and Operations Management Journal (USA), International Journal of Six Sigma and Competitive Advantage (UK) and several Indian journals. He is the Chief Editor of IIMB Management Review. He has published several of his research findings in leading international journals such as the California Management Review, European Journal of Operational Research, Production and Operations Management Journal, International Journal of Production Research and International Journal of Technology Management.
This Professor was responsible for designing several executive education programmes in contemporary topics of interest to senior management during the last ten years. These programmes were for private and public companies in India, large multi-national corporations and for several professional organizations in India & abroad. He has conducted several programmes during the past ten years in Sri Lanka on wide ranging topics of interest to top management.
His current research interests include Design of software for manufacturing system design, supply chain management issues in E-Markets and inventory policy framework in product remanufacturing. His other interests include researching the role of Sanskrit and ancient Indian wisdom in addressing contemporary issues in management.
